Crete 8: Chania

| Doma Hotel |
Chania is a city on the northwest coast of Greece, population around 90,000. Interesting fact: at the beginning of the 20th century Crete was independent for about a decade, and Chania was the capital. The Doma Hotel, where we stayed, was the Austro-Hungarian Embassy during that time and there is a plaque on rhe front wall commemorating the ambassador's work in preventing a war.
