Egypt 9: Hatshepsut
Hatshepsut, the female pharoah, was probably the most powerful woman in ancient Egypt history. While there were other queens she insisted on ruling as a man, complete with false beard. (All pharoahs wore false beards.) Her mortuary temple, carved into a mountain, is huge.
