Greece 7: Methoni

Methoni is on the southwest tip of the Peloponnese peninsula.  Various forces fought over it for half a milennium.  We visited the Venetian fortifications.  One thing I failed to photograph was the crooked path you have to cross to get from the bourtzi tower to the mainland.  It was designed to turn invading soldiers into easy targets by forcing them to travel one at a time and slowly, because it's scary as heck.

Next stop: Pylos
