You're Either On The Bus Or Off The Bus
And that title, friends, is what you call a shibboleth.
My city has a good bus system. When I worked at the university each quarter (except summer) I would purchase the bus pass, subsidized by my employer. While I biked to work most days I used the pass just enough to make it a bargain, on days when the weather was bad, the bike or I was in prro health, or errands intervened.
In the two months since I retired I haven't stepped foot on a bus. The reason, I think, is that my bike is no longer primarily transportation. It's entertainment and exercise. Besides, if I get soaking wet I can change my clothes, which I couldn't do when I got to the library.
